We've passed Valentine's Day. Traditionally, this is the time of year when people throw up their hands and give up in their weight loss efforts. I see it happen every year in my Weight Watchers meetings. Folks make resolutions at the New Year and then, when they encounter the day of chocolates and dining out (or depression eating because you're alone) they lose their drive. They beat themselves up for slacking on the holiday, say they won't go to the meeting "this week" because they don't want to see the damage that they did to their weight on the scale, and that snowballs into falling completely off program. I generally won't see them again until next January.

Don't let this be you! The Daily Quest today is simply a reminder to keep doing what you've been doing, and to get back to it if you haven't been doing so. Don't let one day, or even a series of days, stop you from continuing to make progress on your quest to live a healthier life. You aren't always going to be perfect, and it isn't always going to be easy, but if you constantly strive to keep healthy living in mind you can and will make positive differences in you life.

We believe in you – Even during those moments when you don't believe in yourself.

Indeed.  Hopefully, if someone has made a resolution, in the six weeks since, those new behaviors have turned into good habits (and, for those folks who observe Lent, it's often used as an occasion to do something similar, though usually in the framework of "give up [$bad_food] or [$bad_habit]").

It's a month until the next diet land mine holiday, at least for folks who like corned beef, cabbage, and green beer… and then a couple more weeks until the next candy-goes-on-sale holiday. Cool

Neither success nor failure happen in a single day. If yesterday was a good day, keep it going. If it wasn't? Forget about it, and make today better.

I think the DKs of the Ebon Blade have a pretty good attitude about this, actually. "Tomorrow… is another day."

This is only a test.

Didn't Scarlett O'Hara say that first?
