So I’m down just under two pounds in one day. Not bad, but certainly not anything dramatic, and I’m completely OK with that. I mean, the whole point here isn’t dramatic weight loss (not that I’m going to complain if it happens). Pretty much felt like crap when I woke up this morning. Kind of like I had a hangover. The beet juice yesterday was a bit of a road block, and it kind of set me off my game for the rest of the day. I was really NOT looking forward to having a juice this morning, but once I actually had it I felt considerably better about the whole thing.
I may have to run to the store today to get some herbal tea, but the plan for now is really to just continue sequestering ourselves in the house as we adjust to this. Unfortunately, some of our favorite shows are food related.
So I finished running the Weight Watchers Points PLUS for all of the juices I drank yesterday, and the end result was 47 Points PLUS. At my current weight I’m supposed to consume 64 Points PLUS a day, so I was pretty well below my target. I wouldn’t, however, call it a “starvation” diet at all. At least, not from a caloric standpoint.
Watching yet another documentary called Chow Down about the American diet, and it’s helping us get through this a bit easier.
Juice #3 – Un-beet able
- 2 beeta
- 1 apple
- 3 cups leafy greens
- 3 carrots
- 1 small piece of ginger
Ok, I will be honest. This one was pretty nasty. Lisa couldn’t even finish hers.
I had to run to the store earlier to get cat litter, and that was rough. Noticed the food everywhere.
So. Much. Pee.
Juice # 2 – Green Lemonade
- 6 Kale Leaves
- 3 Handfuls of Spinach
- 2 Stalks of Celery
- 1 Green Apple
- 1 Cucumber
- 1 Lemon
Decent. I’ve noticed that the Kale has a very distinctive smell and taste, but I’m getting used to it.
The “crawling in my skin” feelings are continuing. I don’t feel bad, but I definitely don’t feel great. I’m feeling rather spacey, to be honest. I got a work phone call earlier and it really took everything I had to stay focused and give the caller the correct answer. I kind of wish that I wasn’t going through caffeine withdrawal at the same time as I’m trying this, because it’s hard to tell whether what I’m feeling is because I really just want a cup of coffee.
I’ve decided that I’m actually going to calculate and track the Weight Watchers Points PLUS for the juices that I’m drinking on the fast, so that I can address the whole “you’re just starving yourself/calorie deprivation” concerns.
It’s interesting to see how judgmental people get when they find out you’re juicing.
Having my mid-morning coconut water. It’s…not bad? I can’t say it’s a flavor that I’d actively seek, but it’s not horrible. We got the Zico Pure Premium Coconut Water, mainly because the internet said it was the only brand that didn’t taste like ass.
Feeling slightly…surreal? I attribute it mostly to not drinking coffee. Head is kinda light, and my skin is crawling a bit. It’s funny, but when I initially lost weight I gave up caffeine almost entirely. I treated myself to one cup of coffee a day. I wonder if I should return to that? I do have some seriously fancy coffee making stuff. Maybe I should make it a daily treat/ceremony to make one cup instead of just making an entire pot?
